How long do furnaces last?
Typically 15 to 20 years. Older mid-efficiency furnaces use noticeably more gas than today's high-efficiency models.
How long do boilers last?
Usually 15 to 25 years, depending on type and maintenance. Old cast-iron boilers can last longer but are far less efficient.
How long do hot water tanks last?
Most gas tanks last about 10 to 12 years. Rust, leaks or rumbling are signs it's near the end.
Should I replace it before it breaks?
If it's old and needs a costly repair, planned replacement avoids an emergency and lets you choose the right system. We quote both options so you can decide.
